Mar Vista

Once sleepy and overshadowed by the more well known Venice, Mar Vista has come into its own as a vibrant, fun destination in its own right. Just east of Venice, Mar Vista has the advantage of proximity to the beach, LAX, and the 405. The cool ‘hood is home to an eclectic mix of architecture; old bungalows peacefully exist next to new construction homes. The homes at the crest of Mar Vista have fantastic views.

 

Creative types who wear jeans and T’s and prefer to stay under the radar.

Alana’s for coffee, Hatchet Hall for Southern fare in a pretty setting, Old Man’s Bar, Ginger’s for great ice cream, lots of good inexpensive local Mexican places, the Mar Vista Farmer’s Market on Sundays.
